Data Analyst

Austen Smith is a Data Analyst on The Cloudburst Group’s Housing Assistance Team. Their primary focus areas include the gender identity workgroups and the race & equity demonstration project.

Austen blends their background of social work, grassroots organizing, and creative writing with their years of experience in data management and technical support. Prior to joining the Cloudburst team, Austen worked as a Research Coordinator with University of Virginia’s Compassionate Schools Project, the largest comprehensive qualitative study on the subject of mindfulness and compassion in the U.S. Additionally, Austen has conducted ASSIST classroom observations through a collaboration between the University of Virginia and John Hopkins University.

Austen holds a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in American Sign Language Interpreter Studies from the University of Louisville.
