Research and Solutions from Cloudburst at the World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty

Mobile Application to Secure Tenure at the World BankAt the 2016 World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty last week—the most important event of the year for influencing policy and programming in the land sector—The Cloudburst Group presented our research and solutions for addressing one of the pressing global development challenges: strengthening land and resource rights. The theme of the 17th annual conference was Scaling Up Responsible Land Governance and the conference had over 1,200 attendees, including government and donor representatives, academics, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Cloudburst participated in six presentations and two masterclasses over the week-long conference. Additionally, we facilitated demonstrations of the Mobile Application to Secure Tenure (MAST), which we developed with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and presented on a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)—also developed for USAID—at a side event on e-learning with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
